After getting to know the founders of Chacocente and taking a tour of the school we all went went on a walk to see the houses of Chacocente. During the walk we visited 2 1/2 house. (the half is for the unfinished house we would be working on) The houses that we visited usually had horses, a dog and a few chickens. The first house we visited didn't have a horse, just chickens and a dog. We met and talked with a mother, daughter and baby. For the next house there was a tree full of jocote fruit that we picked. by the time we got to the third house we were all really tired. On the way we had a water chugging contest with our gallons of water, that made everyone's stomach hurt. The 1/2 house was was being made out of cinder blocks. There was a pile of home made cement that we would soon be helping with When we got back to Chacocente, we we went upstairs to a concrete room to have our lunch. M. Kelly loved to eat the tomatoes in the salad, so did Amari.
After the tour, some of our team members played basketball with the Chacocente kids. We were talking with the people of Chacocente and a lady told us that there was a boy that knew how to speak English but was to shy to talk to us. Kyla went right up to him and started speaking in English with him. He said he knew how to play basketball and then M. Elisse said that we had two girls that were really good at basketball (Hala and Cyani) so the boy challenged them to play. At the beginning the Chacocente kids were winning but we came back to win 10-6. Jack made a 3 point shot that was pretty great.
